He says “ the reasons will stay between myself and the Team.” Due to the backlash, Verstappen received unfair media reports. He opens up that the social media even targeted his family after the Brazilian race. The backlash was obvious when Verstappen defied his team’s order at the last year’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix, when he was fighting for the 6th proposition. Seems like Perez has been offended regarding the matter as it opens up again.
Red Bull happens to be a strong team with both the main drivers who are winners. In order to gain the victory again Red Bull must work together. “It’s always important to work as a team and obviously if I see that I don’t receive support when I need it, I won’t give it either,” said Perez.

The matter completely spiced up when media raised fingers at Verstappen regarding his character and behaviour when he denied to help his teammate Sergio Perez at the last race in Brazil. Perez did accuse Verstappen of showing his colours when he refused to hand by the place as requested by Red Bull team. Seemed like the team wanted Perez to end the season second overall. Questions raised around about why the driver who has nailed the tracks this season would be so angry and refused to hand back a 6th place, that too with no consequences on him. Reasons and motives remains a mystery.
