The German claimed Williams aren’t content with Nicholas Latifi, notwithstanding the monetary sponsorship the striving Canadian driver brings. Schumacher says 26-year-old Latifi is just standing out as of now and bringing undue attention ‘due to his accidents’.
“There are a lot of exciting things happening in Formula 1 right now and one of them could be a driver change this year. Oscar Piastri would be a perfect choice. If he doesn’t deserve it, who does?” Schumacher further added, claiming the Alpine reserve driver is the best bet to replace Latifi.

The Canadian driver finished sixteenth in the season opener at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Then the action moved to Saudi Arabia, where Nicholas Latifi registered his first DNF of the 2022 season.
Meanwhile, he again finished sixteenth in the Australian Grand Prix. The fourth round at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix saw the Canadian driver again finish in the sixteenth spot, meaning that he is yet to open his points tally.
