Williams used one of their allocated filming days to test the car on track at Silverstone. Both the drivers, Nicholas Latifi and Alex Albon tested the cars on the track. Their ambassador, Jenson Button was also present to see the new car finish their first laps.

Jost Capito, the team principal of Williams said, “Over its history as an iconic Formula 1 team, Williams Racing has shown great strength and sophistication. “As we move into the new era of our sport, the FW44 highlights the transition to the future, as well as acknowledging the timeless qualities that make us who we are.”

“Last season we were thrilled and proud to make such strong advancements as a team, with a number of well-earned points-scoring results in addition to a podium. Looking forward, we want to build on this success, and the FW44 perfectly embodies these ambitions to return to the front of the grid. I look forward to witnessing this progression with Nicholas and Alex at the helm.”

The Canadian driver, Nicholas Latifi had a poor season with Williams in 2020 and 2021. He finished with zero and six points in both seasons. But this year, with the new regulations, he can change his fortunes.

Nicholas Latifi added, “I’m a fan of the new livery. Keeping blue was important as it has been with the team since forever. It’s a pattern we have not seen before and the fluorescent red will also pop on the track, which I like.”

“It’s a fresh new look to start the new era in F1. I’m super excited for the pre-season testing in Barcelona. I just want to get behind the wheel, push and see what the car can do.”

Alex Albon returns to Formula 1 after a gap of one year. He is going to replace George Russell, who now is a part of the Mercedes team. Alex said, “The FW44 livery is simple and clean. We have gone for more blue with the dynamic diamond finish and a little bit of red. It really looks good and I’m looking forward to seeing it on the track.”

“The pre-season in Barcelona is important to ensure we have a competitive package heading into the new season. We don’t have many days before the race, so we need to understand the car first. We need to understand which areas are strong and where we need to improve.”

“I’m sure it’s a little bit of a learning curve. We all are learning to get the most out of the new regulations. The objectives and the way we focus on this car are very much the same as in previous years. Meanwhile, we are still trying to get the racing car around the track as quickly as possible.”
