Pierre Gasly said, “Unfortunately in our sport, the car makes the majority of the result. Even if Lewis is the best driver in F1 history, today, in a Williams or a Haas, he would finish last. It’s not even that he would be third or fifth, he would be 18th or 16th.”

Pierre Gasly has played down the achievements of Lewis Hamilton. He has highlighted the importance of the car that Lewis drives in determining his success.
Gasly will be driving for AlphaTauri in his third consecutive season. He is looking to build on his ninth-place finish in the 2021 standings when the new season gets started. The French driver only managed to score 110 points in the 2021 season.

His strongest finish in the 2021 season came at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. He managed to finish P3 behind Sergio Perez and Sebastian Vettel. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda will be with AlphaTauri in his second season. Yuki’s strongest finish last year was at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where he finished fourth.
The new season of Formula 1 kickstarts on March 20th at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
