Formula 1: Great news for all the F1 fans around the world as Disney Plus is coming out with its own F1 Docu-series and is going to give a tough time to Netflix’s ‘Drive To Survive’. The four-part show will be hosted by A-lister Hollywood star Keanu Reeves, who was inspired by the success story of the Brawn F1 team. Follow Formula 1 and French GP LIVE updates with InsideSport.IN

It is reported that Reeves spoke to the journalists regarding the project while attending the British GP. “A friend of mine was telling me the story (about Brawn) and I was so struck by it. He (my friend) was actually working for Brawn back in the day in publicity. He’s a producer/ director and so we were like ‘Well let’s tell that story, let’s try to tell that story,” Reeves said.

“It’s been really great to be able to learn more about what was going on in Formula One that year. It wasn’t just the cars, new regulations, FOTA [the Formula One Teams Association] breakaway series,” Reeves added.

“I mean there was just so much happening in Formula One at that time. The world of F1 was just extraordinary. I mean, it’s always extraordinary, but in that year with Brawn GP I think something really special happened,” Reeves concluded.

The Matrix and John Wick star was grasped by the extraordinary story of Brawn GP, who appeared unexpectedly to secure the F1 title in 2009 with drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello.

Formula 1: Brawn GP won the constructors’ title and Jenson Button secured the drivers’ title in 2009.

The series will record the experience right all along, with owner Ross Brawn purchasing the Honda group the whole way through to the outfit’s title win. Reeves was recently pictured at Silverstone where he has been occupied interviewing people for the series.

It is believed that Ross Brawn will feature alongside Jenson Button, the World Champion who drove the group to triumph. Meanwhile, Disney Plus is yet to confirm a release date for the series, yet insiders accept it should hit the floor the following year.
