Meanwhile, Vandoorne leads the championship with 81 points and even won the Monaco E-Prix last month itself. He will be the priority over Nyck de Vries as he has experience of driving a car in the pinnacle of the sport.

Nyck de Vries will be the second option for Toto Wolff as the Dutch driver is the reigning Formula E Champion and even won the Formula 2 title in 2019. But, his performance this year in Formula E has been disastrous as he sees himself nineteenth overall and has 15 points to show.

However, Mercedes eventually don’t want that Hamilton should experience a boycott. The 37- year-old is set to hold talks with FIA president Mohammed bin Sulayem to keep away from a public debate as best as could really be expected.

Meanwhile, Hamilton at the press conference of the Miami Grand Prix donned eight rings, three watches, four necklaces, and two earrings. The Brit feels that it is a ‘step backward’ for the sport and added, “It seems unnecessary to get into this. I am here to be an ally of the sport. We have bigger fish to fry.”

However, Hamilton was given a two-race ‘grace period’ to eliminate piercings on his body. The Mercedes driver sits in the sixth spot of the Drivers’ standings with just 36 points as he heads towards the Spanish Grand Prix for round six of the 2022 season.
