Formula 1: Mercedes F1 2023 Season: Although a light of optimism shined on the championship for Lewis Hamilton on the first day of pre-season testing, Mercedes’ prospects have abruptly turned grim. Holding a meeting in the middle of the night may signal one of two things: either everything is in order for the team and they are faking it to throw their opponent off guard, or they are simply in too much difficulty. “After having a bad year, this year has to be the return,” the 38-year-old driver told the American streaming giant Netflix. “I’m attempting to reclaim the championship that was stolen from me. You readjust, realign, accept the reality of the situation, and get back to work.”
“We’re a bit adrift, since we don’t know where we are right now,” said Toto Wolff to Planet F1.
“We’ve not had a strong second day; stopping on track with a reliability issue wasn’t great, and we’ve battled to get the car balanced effectively across the changing conditions,” Shovlin said.

Mercedes Benz or Mercedes AMG Petronas?
Lewis Hamilton, despite winning umpteen titles with the team, doesn’t even seem to get the team name right, if you go by his interview with Netflix. “I’m Lewis Hamilton, and I race for Mercedes Benz.”
He soon realised his error. “Well sh*t, what is it called?”
“Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 squad,” the show’s producer clarified.
Things have not been smooth for the Briton and his team, over by their last season, given stiff competition by Red Bull and evergreen Ferrari. They’d sincerely hope they upgrade big time this time, and stake a claim for the championship starting from the first weekend of March in Bahrain.
