Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton has been managed a blow in regards to his desire to see F1 incorporate South Africa into the F1 calendar, with F1 sponsors DHL playing down reports that it could be a part of the 2023 season. DHL being the logistics partner for F1 released a statement that read, “The calendar for 2023 has not yet been announced and speculation around the race is nothing more than that.”

Reports arose in June proposing that F1 authorities were nearly marking an arrangement to have a race at South Africa’s Kyalami circuit, which has not facilitated an F1 Grand Prix starting around 1993. The venue can hold roughly 100,000 spectators, and it is accepted that main minor changes would be expected to satisfy wellbeing guidelines.

The Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has openly said that he wants to race in his ‘motherland’. “The place that I really feel is dear to my heart and most important to get a race back in South Africa. There is a great following out there and I think it would be great to be able to highlight just how beautiful the motherland is,” Hamilton said.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is accepted to have flown directly from Azerbaijan to South Africa for talks last month in the midst of bits of gossip that very well may be added to the timetable as soon as 2023. Nothing concrete has arisen at this point, in any case, regardless of Domenicali’s confirmations of interest at different focuses over time.

“On top of America, on top of China, there is a potential to be in Africa soon. There is a lot of interest there. That’s an area that so far is missing in the geography of our calendar,” Domenicali said.

“It is up to us to try to find the right balance between the historical values of the old and famous European tracks and other destinations across the world. Various promoters have expiring agreements, and some of the current grands prix will probably no longer be part of the calendar,” Domenicali added.

Meanwhile, the Grand Prix’s happening in China, France and Belgium are all in danger to get a spot in the 2023 season.

Meanwhile, the update from DHL isn’t obvious proof that the discussions have fallen. However, fans might decode that things are not so progressed as it had been made out as of late. Kyalami facilitated F1 races for almost twenty years from 1967 and 1985, and afterward two more in the mid-1990s.
