Back in January of this year, Doohan made a move to the Alpine Academy from Red Bull’s young driver program. The 19-year-old has racing in his blood, as he the son of bike legend Mick Doohan. He has shown promising speed in FIA Formula 2 Championship where he drives for Virtuosi Racing, securing a pole in Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Doohan has very little to show for it as he only has 6 points to his name this season so far. Alpine’s three-day test at Losail, which is being led with the group’s 2021 vehicle, started off on Wednesday. It even featured the French outfit’s reserve driver Oscar Piastri who was on track on Thursday.
