Lewis Hamilton earns a whopping £40m yearly. He is the seven times F1 champion. Hamilton holds the most number of podium wins and Grand Prix races too. But Max Verstappen is just now £3m behind him after signing a bumper deal with Red Bull.

Max Verstappen will now earn £37m yearly. This happened after he won his maiden Formula 1 title with Red Bull. It was the first for any Red Bull driver in nearly eight years. The last time any Red Bull driver won the title was in 2013 by Sebastian Vettel.

The first pre-season testing has finished in Barcelona where both the Mercedes driver topped the timesheet. Now, all eyes will be on the second pre-season testing in Bahrain. The second pre-season in Bahrain starts from 10th to 12th March. The season kicks off again in Bahrain with the first race taking place on 20th March.

Max will then look to defend his title. The Dutch driver has also changed his number from 33 to 1. The third-place goes to Lando Norris who signed a bumper deal with McLaren. The Brit driver is just 22 and has signed a deal worth £10.5m.

Top 10 highest paid drivers in Formula 1

Fourth place goes to the Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc who takes home £10.19m. Then comes McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo who also takes home £10.19m. Carlos Sainz of Ferrari is placed sixth and earns £7.28m. The veteran, Sebastian Vettel also earns £7.28m and is placed seventh in the list.

The other veteran in the form of Fernando Alonso is eighth in the list and takes home £6.55. The second Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez is placed ninth and takes home £4.5m. Last but not the least, Esteban Ocon of Alpine is placed in the tenth position. He takes home £4m.
