Formula 1: Sebastian Vettel is fit to race in Australian Grand Prix: Aston Martin has confirmed that Sebastian Vettel is now fit and will race in the upcoming Australian Grand Prix. The four-time Formula 1 champion was out after testing positive for Covid-19. Sebastian Vettel missed out on the previous two Bahrain and Saudi Arabia GP. Sebastian Vettel had tested positive for Covid-19 just before the start of the Bahrain Grand Prix. Therefore, he missed the season opener which took place on 20th March.

Sebastian was deemed unfit and was not able to start the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix too. Nico Hulkenberg, the reserve driver for Aston Martin had filled in for Vettel in both races.

Formula 1: What happened in the first two races for Aston Martin

Nico was seen partnering with the regular driver Lance Stroll for Aston Martin. The Bahrain Grand Prix was not a good outing for Aston Martin and its drivers.

Lance Stroll managed a twelfth position finish and Nico Hulkenberg had to settle for the seventeenth position. This meant that Aston Martin and its drivers scored zero points in the season opener.

Coming to the second race of the season that took place in Saudi Arabia. It was again confirmed by Aston Martin that Vettel hasn’t tested negative for Covid-19. However, it meant that Nico will again drive in place of Vettel.

Nico Hulkenberg this time got the better of his teammate after finishing in the twelfth position. Lance Stroll had to settle for a thirteenth-place finish. Therefore, making it another zero points outing for the drivers and Aston Martin itself.

Aston Martin is yet to score a point as they are ninth in the Constructors championship. The other team who hasn’t scored a point this season is Williams.

The next round of Formula 1 takes place in Australia. The Australian Grand Prix will start on 8th April and the main event will take place on 10th April.
