Formula 1: The Australian Grand Prix winner Red Bull is embarrassed to unlock their potential, says George Russell. Russell has recently commented on the reluctance of Red Bull to launch their Formula 1 car. Formula 1 LIVE Updates with InsideSport.IN.
Melbourne tracks saw Verstappen with a comeback after his first lap which was poor, dropping behind Russell and Hamilton, bagging his second win of the season. On the contrary, Russell had an early advantage on the tracks, until a safety car period and a red flag. Hamilton and Verstappen overtook the position following the red flag.

“They’re almost embarrassed to show their full potential because the faster they seem globally the more the sport is going to try to hold them back somehow. Realistically, they probably have seven tenths’ advantage over the rest of the field.” Russell said while being live on BBC Radio.
The Mercedes Driver, Hamilton also was taken aback by the speed of Verstappen when he overtook. In his words, he came ‘sailing by’ with so much ease. In fact, Mercedes CEO Toto Wolff also called the speed ‘mind-boggling’, turning a deficit of 0.5 second into an advantage of 2.1s in the next lap.
Back where we want to be☝️

“I don’t know what the pace difference looks like at the moment but Max has got no reason to be pushing and nor has Red Bull. They have done a really great job, we can’t take that away and we clearly have to up our game.” Russell complemented his rival team.

Although, Chris Horner isn’t really taking the credits and calling Hamilton’s comment as a mistake and exaggeration. But the new Red Bull RB19 holds more potential that it shows on the tracks. Infact, Verstappen wasn’t really sweating during his first lap, enabling him to lose a few stops. Maybe, because he knew he had an added advantage of a better and faster car. The car pulled off a huge distance at multiple instances on the tracks.
It looks like Red Bull doesn’t want to let their secret superstar out of the box. Neither the drivers have any kind of interest to push hard, with the goal being only managing till the end. It will be really interesting to watch how and when Red Bull reveal their secret knack.
