His recent celebrations came last year when McLaren finished 1-2 at Monza. Meanwhile, he also convinced actor Sir Patrick Stewart to join him in his famous celebration. This happened when Daniel finished third at the 2018 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

The tradition of the shoey celebration started at the Australian V8 Supercars drivers in 2014. Since then, it has been adopted by a range of athletes in different sports. Even the Aussie UFC star Tai Tuivasa follows the famous shoey tradition.

The Australian driver had partnered with Barossa Valley-based St Hugo in 2021. They produce a wide range of drops christened DR3. It also has his initials and the number of his F1 car on it.

It is highly unlikely that we’ll see Daniel Ricciardo doing his shoey celebration at the Australian Grand Prix this weekend. His team McLaren are seriously struggling to find any sort of pace so far in the 2022 season.

Ricciardo finished fourteenth in the season opener at the Bahrain Grand Prix. He also had to retire from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after having issues with his gearbox. McLaren, so far this season have only accumulated six points.

It is their worst start since the 2017 campaign. They are just not able to find any race pace which is making it difficult for them to break the midfield deadlock. It’s a huge blow for them as they are one of the proudest teams in the sport. They had a promising 2021 season after finishing fourth, behind their arch-rivals Ferrari.
