“Whether it will be enough or not to win the world championship, I have no idea. It’s still very early on in the season. But let’s say that it’s a very good start to the season. As I said many times, I think development will be key. And we as drivers need to help the team in the best way possible to keep this competitiveness.”

Ferrari is the team to beat after the two races are concluded in the 2022 season. They are leading the Constructors standings with 78 points to their name. Mercedes is second with 38 points and Red Bull third with 37 points. But, it looks like only Red Bull can match Ferrari right now.

Both the Ferrari drivers are also leading in the Drivers’ standings as well. Charles Leclerc is first with 45 points followed by Carlos Sainz with 33 points in second. Meanwhile, both the Ferrari drivers have finished on the podium in both races.

However, Max Verstappen is slowly cutting down on the gap as he is third with 25 points. The gap could have been much narrower as both the Red Bull cars had to retire in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc looks like a big threat to Max Verstappen’s crown this year. Leclerc has outpaced his teammate in both the races so far. He also drives a car much faster than Mercedes pair, Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell. If Leclerc’s predictions are on point, then Verstappen needs to worry about his F1 title.

Meanwhile, Helmut Marko admitted that defending his title wouldn’t be easy for Max Verstappen. Marko said, “It will also be a long, hard road for Max. The tests have already shown that Ferrari has a car that can keep up in all conditions. And we have to take Mercedes into account. Hamilton is only nine points behind Max.”

Round three of the 2022 Formula 1 season takes place in Australia. The Australian Grand Prix will start on 8th April and the race is scheduled for 10th April.
