Formula 1: Ferrari all set to snub new upgrades till British GP: Ferrari will wait till July for the British Grand Prix for their new upgrade packages in order to fight against the likes of Red Bull. The Italian team got their first upgrades to the F1-75 challenger at last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix but they need to keep a check on the budget cap too. The team principal for Ferrari Mattia Binotto said, “I think the budget cap is dictating somehow what we can do. We need to certainly have a close look at it and not wasting our money, because we cannot simply do that.”

“I think we’ll bring upgrades when we have got a significant one. It will not come every single race that we will be bringing pieces. On top of that, I think you can look at the next races. We’ve got now Monaco where maybe you’re bringing a new front suspension for steering angle, and then later on, we’ve got Baku which is a city circuit. So I think it will be around the UK where maybe some developments will arrive,” Binotto concluded.

Things fell apart for them as Leclerc had to retire from the Spanish GP due to a power unit issue and Ferrari even lost the lead in the constructors’ standings. Moreover, Ferrari sees themselves second in the constructors’ standings with 169 points, 26 points behind first-place Red Bull.

The Italian outfit cannot back out now from the threat posed by Red Bull as they have to keep in check with the new F1’s cost cap limits too.
The monetary requirements are the reason Ferrari held on until Spain to bring its major upgrade for 2022, and are considering keeping down until July for the following update.
