Hamilton’s recent finish at the Australian GP has left Alonso all conscious and now it looks like it is going to be a tough competition.

The Spanish driver has already fueled the sense of competition among them. Back in 2007 as teammates in McLaren, both Hamilton and Alonso were not in each other’s good books. Rather, they are the oldest rivalry ever in F1 history.  Even though Hamilton hasn’t reciprocated the competition this season yet, Alonso has kept a very close eye on him. Looks like he doesn’t want to lose his aim.

The sport is currently under a four-week break, due to the cancellation of the Chinese GP. The teams have started using the break to make changes to their cars and refurnish all weak points. However, Alonso is not a big fan of this practice, owing to the fact that this has an unfair advantage.

Alonso expressed his displeasure when asked about the extended break in the racing schedule, saying “No, I would have preferred to continue racing.” The displeasure comes from the fact that Mile Krack, his team principal, tried to rationalise the break and its advantages to Alonso.

Mike said, “Now it’s a development race. We are fighting with people who have far more firepower than we have. In terms of personnel, infrastructure and experience.” The driver wasn’t on the same page regarding the use of resources to gain an advantage over Aston Martin and other racers.

On the other hand, the break period is probably being used for the best by Ferrari. Struggling with their reliability issues and other problems, it looks like the break has brought new motivation for Charles Leclerc. The Monaco-based driver has given high hopes to his fans, promising an iconic comeback.

Both Aston Martin and Ferrari have been optimistic about their comeback, despite the threats of competition.
