Coming back to the 2023 Australian Grand Prix, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton both picked p2, p3 positions respectively in qualifying.

It was almost like the car felt very much alive today. George Russell mentioned that he did not expect a such result. He expressed that the lap was right on the limit in the end. However, Russell is a little bit disappointed about not getting the pole position.

On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton expressed how happy and grateful he is for his P3. However, he stated that his second lap wasn’t as good as his first one. In spite of that, the Mercedes driver is happy with his performance and is ready to work harder for a much better result.

Russell claimed that while a top-five finish yesterday would have been satisfying, the car felt amazing today. He also mentioned that back at the plant and here in Melbourne, a lot of hard work is being done.

Toto Wolff and his team claimed that they have been working tirelessly to maximise the car’s performance. They did discuss how they tied everything together in qualifying. They undoubtedly gained knowledge from the exercise, and they have an open mind. He talked about how he altered his strategy from performing a third or fourth push cycle to just two before reducing it to one in Q3.
