Leclerc was questioned regarding how the team was feeling as they headed into the weekend during the drivers’ news conference prior to the Australian GP. Leclerc stated that this season’s atmosphere is very different from that of the previous one.

“Clearly, our performance is not as good as last season,” he said. “But we are trying massively to come back to the front. Everybody was really happy”, the Italian driver said.

However, the young driver has confirmed that they are trying to come back and pick up the pace. He also said that the team is very focused to get their way in the front.

But it seems Leclerc has already given up on repeating the same performance in Melbourne this season. The Ferrari driver stated that there will not be any miracles in the upcoming race at Albert Park.

“I don’t think there will be any miracles for this weekend,” Leclerc continues. “But after that, there will be a three-week break and we will try to use it in the best way, to bring upgrades as quickly as possible.”

He added. “When all the conditions are right, we seem to be able to extract the performance out of our package, but whenever the conditions are changing a little bit with a heavier car, when you see a little bit more the limitations of the car, that’s where you struggle, so we are trying to focus on that.”
