MERCEDES

In the previous season, front wing enclave design was unique until FIA made it illegal for 2023 season. Even though Mercedes has somehow managed to create something similar or we can say an effect on the new F1 Mercedes car.

There has been a sleek change between the 4 planes of the front wing and the end plate. The team has made sure to create a gentle upward curve as the front wing profiles bend into the vertical end plate.

Even though the element was confirmed illegal by FIA, Mercedes has neatly opted to end the front wing profile slightly inboard. Mercedes did not really do well in the first 2 days. But it did pick up the pace on the final day.

There has been a strong resemblance to last year’s car, the F1-75. The team has created level solutions for the side ducts even though anyone can pretty much miss the changes. Ferrari has highlighted an installation of a vertical inlet at the chassis. And they are referring to this inlet as a bypass duct. The aim is to energise the airflow, and in particular, the hot stream exiting from the upper gills.
