The much anticipated 2023 Austrian GP is concluded with Max Verstappen taking to the chequered flag ahead of the rest of the grid. With this, he has now consolidated his championship lead by mammoth 81 points. He was closely followed by Charles Leclerc in second place and Perez on the lowest step of the podium. Max being the regular at the top this season, the race was a positive one for Leclerc in its own sweet way. The Monegasque driver helped Ferrari reach another huge milestone today.
Firstly talking about the Mexican minister of defense, who finally ended his dismal podium-less streak after 4 races today. Even after putting up some good performances, Perez saw the dip of the season where almost everything seemed tougher for him. However, it was redemption day for Checo as he helped the team achieve a double podium finish. On the point of podiums, it is a mammoth day for Ferrari as they clocked an overall 800 podium finishes in Austria.
Ferrari hasn’t been able to perform at the heights of its power for a decent time now, so much so that it has been 16 years and four regulation changes since the team last won a championship. However, that doesn’t take away the rich legacy of this illustrious tree, the seed of which was sown more than 75 years ago by Enzo Ferrari.

Ferrari man Charles Leclerc happy with the team’s performance
The Monegaque managed his best result this season so far. As F1 entered the new era, Ferrari was at best second fastest if not the fastest in 2022, and fans were expecting a crushing championship battle. However, the team somehow managed to botch up the entire scene, touching new lows through the season. This season, though better on strategy, the team lacked in pace advantage.
Now, as they brought in significant upgrades for the Austrian GP, fans were hoping for a turnaround, and they got one indeed. A P2 and P4 finish is surely a favorable response for the Maranello team. After the race, Leclerc gave his reaction on a wonderful result, and surely an awaited one.
“Friday and today we have maximized what we had. It’s good to be back on the podium. The upgrades made me feel better. The team has done an excellent job in bringing the upgrades earlier,” said Leclerc.
