All the timings from the drivers who drove on Day 1 at the Pre-season testing in Barcelona

On the day of Wednesday, the Barcelona circuit saw the first proper running of the Formula 1 2022 cars. It was Charles Leclerc who set the fastest time in the morning session of 1m 20.165s. But, Lando Norris eclipsed that time and set the fastest lap time at the end of day 1. Lando completed 103 laps with the 2022 car. Lando’s time was 1m 19.568s as it saw Charles Leclerc drop to P2.

Charles Leclerc completed 80 laps during the first day of pre-season testing. Ferrari’s second driver, Carlos Sainz was third as his time was 1m 20.416s. Carlos drove almost 73 laps. Then came Mercedes’s new driver, George Russell who finished the day at P4. He drove the W13 for 77 laps and his time was 1m 20.784s.

After that came the seven-time F1 champion, Lewis Hamilton. He completed 50 laps on the W13 and his timing was 1m 20.929s. The other veteran on the grid, Sebastian Vettel was P6 as he completed 52 laps. His timing was 1m 21.276s. The big surprise of the day was Yuki Tsunoda of AlphaTauri who finished P7. He completed almost 121 laps and his timing was 1m 21.638s.

The two-time F1 champion, Fernando Alonso finished P8 and completed 127 laps. He drives for Alpine and his timing at the end of the day was 1m 21.746s. The reigning champion, Max Verstappen finished P9. It was a big surprise because you don’t get to see him in the middle of the table. Max completed the most number of laps (147) and his timing was 1m 22.246s.

The new driver for Alfa Romeo, Valtteri Bottas finished P10. He just drove for 23 laps and his timing was 1m 22.572s. The new driver for Williams, Alex Albon finished P11 as he was sidelined from the motorsport for one year. He completed 66 laps and his timing was 1m 22.760s.

Mick Schumacher carried on his form from the 2021 season as he finished the day P12. He just drove for 23 laps in his new Haas car and his timing was 1m 22.962s. Lance Stroll, the driver for Aston Martin finished P13 and he drove 67 laps. His timing was 1m 23.327s.

Nicholas Latifi, who was involved in a crash in the season finale at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year, finished P14. Latifi completed 66 laps and his timing was 1m 23.379s. The other driver for Haas, Nikita Mazepin finished the day at P15. He drove 20 laps and his timing was 1m 24.505s. The reserve driver for Alfa Romeo, Robert Kubica finished P16. He just drove for 9 laps and clocked a time of 1m 25.909s.
