Formula 1 owners Liberty Media are reportedly pushing for a dream team of Red Bull from 2025 onwards. Liberty Media took over the F1 rights in 2017, and since then, the sport has seen an unprecedented rise in popularity and viewer engagement. However, in recent times, the unwavering dominance of Red Bull and Max Verstappen is allegedly pushing the game toward predictability and boredom.
Verstappen’s dominant streak began in 2021 when the Dutchman dethroned Lewis Hamilton from the championship title. In 2021, he won a total of 10 races and multiple podium finishes to his name. However, the intense title battle made it one of the best seasons in F1 history. It ensued with a major overhaul in 2023, and the only team that was able to crack new regulations to perfection was Red Bull.
Since then, the dominance of Red Bull has been second to nothing this sport has ever seen. Max Verstappen, when performing at the heights of his powers, seems as close to unbeatable as it comes. Last year, the Dutchman won an unreal 15 races and took the championship home with a huge margin. This season so far, the Milton-Keynes team has registered a win in every race so far. With this, the clouds of predictability are surrounding the sport and owners are looking for a way out.

Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris Frontrunners to team with Max Verstappen
As per the F1 website PlanetF1, owners Liberty Media want Red Bull to partner Max up with a more competitive driver. This is for a reason that even if one team is highly dominant, there should be a better battle at the front, unlike it is with Perez this year. Out of the 11 rounds of racing so far, Verstappen is leading Perez with 99 points.
Moreover, Not just that, Verstappen has now won 22 of the last 29 races he has entered. This is enough statistic to prove that it’s one-way traffic at the front, which is not good for the popularity of the sport. “There is in fact a strong desire on the part of Liberty Media to try to convince the top teams to have two truly competitive drivers in the team, in order to liven up the spectacle even if only one team dominates,” reported PlanetF1.
“Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are believed to be the front-running candidates to potentially drive alongside the reigning World Champion, in the hope of creating a team of two ‘number one’ drivers to spice up the action at the front of the field,” added the report.
