“It’s like if someone speeds on the roads you can’t stop them doing it but they get fined, even if it was accidental. You can’t let people off because they are your friends. There has to be one rule for all, and that’s that. I love jewellery.”

“I absolutely love it. But in the car there can be no choice. People say they (the rules) haven’t been implemented before. Don’t ask me why not. People can ask the old regime why that is the case,” Sulayem concluded.

Hamilton has been straightforward with regards to this issue, addressing why the FIA are just authorising the wellbeing rule now. Meanwhile, the 37-year-old seemed to clasp to the FIA tension at the Miami Grand Prix by eliminating practically the entirety of his jewellery.

Hamilton even held a discussion with FIA doctor Sean Petherbridge not long before training for the Miami Grand Prix. However, he’s been given simply a two-race ‘grace period’ to eliminate other piercings on his body.

That arrangement just runs for the rest of the month as Hamilton might be missing the chance of competing at the Monaco Grand Prix. Reports have shown that Hamilton could be prohibited from driving in the renowned race toward the end of May.
