F1 Hungarian GP LIVE: The qualifying session has ended as Mercedes’ George Russell takes the pole position at the Hungaroring for the Hungarian GP as he is followed by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in the second and third spots. It was Mercedes’ George Russell who claimed the first pole position of his F1 career after a blistering flying lap where he leapfrogged Carlos Sainz in the dying stages of the Qualifying session. He was followed by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in the second and third spots. Meanwhile, McLaren’s Lando Norris will start tomorrow’s race from the second row after settling for the fourth spot.

Last year’s Hungarian GP winner Esteban Ocon sees himself fifth overall and was followed by his teammate Fernando Alonso in the sixth position. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton had to settle for seventh place as he was followed by Valtteri Bottas down in the eighth spot.

McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo had to settle for the ninth spot as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen claimed the tenth position after having troubles with his RB18 challenger. His teammate Sergio Perez will start tomorrow’s race from the eleventh spot as he was followed by Guanyu Zhou in the twelfth spot.

Haas’ Kevin Magnussen claimed the thirteenth position and was followed by Lance Stroll in the fourteenth spot. Mick Schumacher couldn’t do much out on the track as he settled for the fifteenth place and was followed by Yuki Tsunoda down in the sixteenth position.

Williams Alex Albon claimed the seventeenth spot as the veteran Sebastian Vettel had to settle for the eighteenth spot. Pierre Gasly had a qualifying to forget as he finished in the nineteenth spot and lastly it was Nicholas Latifi who finished in the twentieth position.
