F1 French GP: Most wins by drivers and constructors at French GP: As we approach the twelfth round of the F1 2022 season in Le Castellet in the form of the French Grand Prix, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc will be eyeing winning his maiden race here. Meanwhile, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will look to win his second race while Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton will try to claim his third victory. In the 2021 French GP, it was Red Bull’s Max Verstappen who claimed his first victory at Le Castellet while Hamilton finished second and Sergio Perez ended on the podium by taking the third spot.

The record for the most number of wins as a driver in the French GP is held by Michael Schumacher. He has won eight races so far while driving for Benetton and Ferrari.

Meanwhile, the record for the most number of wins as a constructor is held by Ferrari. The Prancing Horse has 17 wins as a constructor and Williams takes the second spot with just eight wins to their name.

Max Verstappen is still leading the drivers’ standings with 208 points as he finished second at the Red Bull Ring in the Austrian GP. But, Charles Leclerc gained spots in the standings and has now moved to the second spot with 170 points.

Ferrari’s Leclerc won the Austrian GP and overtook Sergio Perez who registered DNF at Red Bull Ring. Moreover, Carlos Sainz registered his fourth DNF of the season as he was looking for a comfortable P2 finish at the home of Red Bull.

But, Mercedes as a whole unit has shown immense improvement since the British GP and have majorly cut down on their Porpoising issues. Hamilton registered his fourth podium finish of the F1 2022 season and finished thrice on the podium in the last three races.

George Russell, the other Mercedes driver has been the shining light for the Silver Arrows as out of eleven races he finished in the top five in ten races. He registered his first DNF at his home race in Silverstone in a multi-car accident on the first lap but other than that he has been out-performing his Brit colleague.
