Although, he had a strong Friday as he claimed P3 in both the Free Practice sessions of the Azerbaijan GP.
Christian Horner was asked whether the rival teams would lodge a complaint to which he replied, “I think they already have.” He also confirmed that the team is looking into the matter and searching for a fix.

“Obviously, we have seen it. We’ve got the data from it and we’ve got the comparison to Sergio’s wing, so I think there are some modifications or tuning that we need to do just to make sure that we eradicate that for this afternoon,” Horner added.
TV replays showed the upper component of the rear wing on Verstappen’s RB18, specifically, vibrating fiercely with the DRS open along the main straight of the Baku street circuit. The motions were just apparent on Verstappen’s vehicle, with the session topper in the form of Perez getting away from the issue.

Demanding the vibrations were ‘detrimental to execution’, with Verstappen a third of a second behind Perez in sitting third on the timesheet. Meanwhile, Horner added, “The guys are into it and hopefully, we will get it resolved for the next session.”
It isn’t the first time that Verstappen has suffered a problem with his DRS as he had a similar problem during the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

“It always seems to be on Max’s car for some reason. We need to get on top of it. We understood the issues from Barcelona and hopefully, we can tune this out for the next session,” Horner concluded.
