Daniel Ricciardo Comeback: Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo will soon take the wheel of the 2023 RB19 car later this season at Silverstone. This will the first time out on the track for the Aussie star since his last outing in 2022 for McLaren. For this season, he is parked on the bench after failing to secure a seat. However, he is still in the loop with the Red Bull team in the role of reserve driver. Ricciardo shares a longstanding relationship with the Milton Keynes team. Out of the 8 career wins, 7 of them came with Red Bull in his 5-year-long stint with the team. He stayed with Red Bull from 2014 to 2018 before making the then controversial move to Renault. As the time would have it, he is back with the team, though in a hugely different role. The Aussie driver has been doing a lot of simulator related work of the team lately apart from putting his brand value to promotional use for them.

More recently, the Honey Badger confirmed he will get the taste of the fastest car on track this season, and as fans would expect from him, he will do it in style. Though not on the grid this season, Ricciardo is still a force to reckon with when he puts on his racing helmet.

I will drive RB19 in July: Daniel Ricciardo

In a recent interview with ESPN, Danny Ric made official confirmation regarding his return on the grid. He will be doing a Pirelli test for the Milton Keynes team post race at Silverstone in July. This will be his first time out in the car on track, and to his delight, in the fastest car on track. Fans will surely bet on him to put in some exceptional laps, just like old times with Red Bull.

“I’ve been in the simulator, but I will drive the RB19 in July after the Silverstone race – I’m getting a Pirelli test,” said Ricciardo as reported by Formula1.com.

“Then maybe I’ll get another one after Monza as well in September. A couple of months away [and] I’ll get to feel what it’s like. I’m certainly excited to drive a fast car, but also a car that maybe still feels familiar for me–it does a little bit in the sim. But I’m just excited to drive again and to just try to remind a team obviously I once had a lot of success with that I can still turn a fast lap,” added the 8 Grand Prix winner.
