Ferrari have found something in the last few Formula 1 weekends. They were on fire at Monza but were beaten by a superior Red Bull. Here during the Singapore GP qualifying, they blanked everyone but George Russell. Carlos Sainz took pole for a second consecutive race while Charles Leclerc will start third. With both Red Bulls out of the top 10, this might be their best shot at a race win.
Carlos Sainz gets a Second Consecutive Pole
At Ferrari, Carlos Sainz has been paired with one of the best qualifiers in Formula 1. However, for the second weekend in a row, he has beaten Charles Leclerc. And for the second weekend, he looked better than him throughout the practice sessions.
The Spaniard seemed to take to the Singapore GP track like fish to water. He trusted his Ferrari and threw it around the corners. His middle sector was particularly impressive throughout the weekend.

During the final runs in Q3, he actually went ahead of all the top runners. At the Singapore GP, this means losing out on important track evolution. However, it didn’t matter to the Spaniard as he bagged pole anyway. Funnily enough, his middle sector wasn’t even his personal best during this lap.
A Podium Last Time, A Win This Time?
Last time out at Monza, Carlos Sainz was able to convert his pole position to a podium as both Red Bulls overtook him. Even that podium wasn’t easy as he fought Charles Leclerc till the chequered flag.
However, at the Singapore GP, both Red Bulls are starting out of the top 10. With his teammate 2 places behind him, Carlos Sainz has a realistic chance at winning the Singapore GP.
However, he will have to work really hard to keep an aggressive George Russell behind. And Charles Leclerc will not want to finish behind his teammate once again.

But who will triumph? Will Max Verstappen pull off the impossible and win the Singapore GP from outside the top 10? Or will we finally have a non-Red Bull winner in 2023? Keep following us to find out.
