However, FIA didn’t take any action despite issuing a notice earlier this morning to the team manager. They also clarified how Stewards received a report from the team doctor, requesting an exemption from the compliance of Art. 5 on medical grounds.

The FIA stated, “In light of the medical circumstances, we have determined to take no further actions as there are medical concerns with the removal of the device.”

The clash between the two isn’t something new as the FIA has been constantly looking for nudges. The driver clashed with the FIA over the jewellery ban, which came into effect last year.

Hamilton said that the nose stud was necessary for his blood blister, and is required during the races. He called it an enforcement of power, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Hamilton said: “I mean, yeah. Because I’m the only one that has jewellery on, really. People love to have power, and to enforce power.”

The FIA has recently released the jewellery ban, under Article 5 of Chapter Number III under Appendix L, of the FIA International Sporting Code. In protest of the ban, Hamilton had shown up wearing multiple watches and rings, during the Miami GP last May.
