Alpha Tauri are having a terrible F1 season in 2023. They are currently last in the team’s standings. Yuki Tsunoda has improved his performance by a lot, which also contributed to the sacking of Nyck de Vries. Daniel Ricciardo has returned to F1 with the team and will look to take them forward. Meanwhile, Red Bull announced the departure of long-term Team Principal Franz Tost. They also announced that Peter Bayer will be taking over as CEO, and he has a few plans in mind.
Alpha Tauri falters as Red Bull flies
Alpha Tauri was improving massively as a team at the end of the previous rule cycle. A rejuvenated Pierre Gasly was regularly in the points and even won at Monza in 2020. The new rule cycle has sent them to the back.
Alpha Tauri finished 9th last year, only ahead of Williams. Williams have taken a leap this year, and Alpha Tauri find themselves last in the F1 standings. Only Yuki Tsunoda has managed to earn points for them. Being the sister team of the all-conquering Red Bull, this doesn’t bode well for them.

Alpha Tauri will remain situated in Italy, although their aerodynamics team may move to Milton Keynes. They will move there to take advantage of Red Bull’s new wind tunnel set to become operational in 2024 or 2025. This change in plans should lead to a change in fortunes for the struggling team.
