According to a German report, the corporation is willing to sell Alpha Tauri, which was previously known as Toro Rosso and has been the sister team since 2006. Following the death of Dietrich Mateschitz last October was the co-founder, and his son Mark became the company’s 49 percent owner. Former RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff was also transferred to handle the company’s Formula 1 effort, which has shown extraordinary success recently.
Nevertheless, while Red Bull has been leading from the start, Alpha Tauri’s fortunes have taken a turn for the worst. The sibling team ended eighth last season, a disappointing year after making so much progress in the two years leading up to 2022, and rumour has claimed that the new administration is dissatisfied with the situation.

Following Mateschitz’s death, Alpha Tauri team boss Franz Tost told The Race in November that his operation’s long-term future was assured. However, the new Red Bull administration appears to consider that Alpha Tauri does not provide enough value in recent times.

It began as Toro Rosso but was renamed Alpha Tauri in 2020 to showcase the Red Bull fashion brand. The benefit of having two teams during the cost cap era was that when Red Bull Racing’s spending reduced and prize money was more evenly distributed around teams, Red Bull would have two profitable businesses, with Alpha Tauri able to become more competitive. However, Alpha Tauri faltered in 2022, finishing ninth – the team’s joint-second lowest finish in Red Bull’s ownership.
