For the first time in a long time, we are coming into the Abu Dhabi GP with the top 3 drivers’ spots fixed. Moreover, the constructors’ championship is locked as well. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to play for. There are plenty of battles up and down the Formula 1 field. Some are for money, others for pride. These battles include between Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin. Let’s have a look.
The Battle for P4 in the Drivers’ Championship
The top 3 in the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship have been decided before coming into the Abu Dhabi GP. However, the battle for P4 features 4 drivers, all of whom have a realistic chance at it. It features both the Ferrari boys, Lando Norris from McLaren, and Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin.
Going into the Abu Dhabi GP, Sainz and Alonso are both on 200 points. Norris is just 5 points away, and Leclerc is just 12 points away. One good or bad result can be the difference between P4 and P7 in the standings.

Battle for P4 in the Constructors’ Championship
The battle for 4th in the Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship looked dead well before the Abu Dhabi GP. McLaren were on an upward trajectory, and Aston Martin looked destined for 5th. However, in the last 2 races, McLaren have dropped quite a few points. Suddenly, only 11 points separate the 2 teams going into the Abu Dhabi GP.

Battle for P7 in the Constructors’ Championship
Formula 1 hasn’t particularly had one backmarker team this season. This means that mathematically, 4 teams are in contention for P7 going into the Abu Dhabi GP.
Williams hold the lead with 28 points but Alpha Tauri are only 7 points behind. Alfa Romeo have 16 points while Haas have 12. Mathematically, only Alpha Tauri should be able to catch Williams, but one crazy result can change everything.
