1. Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2021

Perez was signed by Red Bull last year itself and he didn’t disappoint as he finished fourth overall. The main highlight was Azerbaijan GP 2021, which he was after seeing his teammate Max Verstappen crash as his tyre burst while leading the race. It was an important win for Perez and Red Bull as the latter mounted pressure on Mercedes.

2. Monaco Grand Prix 2022

It was one of the biggest days in Checo’s career as he claimed his third overall and his first-ever win at Monte Carlo. Carlos Sainz mounted unreal pressure on Perez knowing that the life of the latter’s tyres will end at any time, but doing justice to his tag of the ‘tyre whisperer’, Checo did well to come home with a win.

3. Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021

In this race, Checo might have finished P15 but he did his teammate a big favour. It was at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year where Max Verstappen clinched his first-ever F1 title. The Mexican did well to keep Hamilton behind him for a significant while, effectively handing Verstappen a big advantage.  After winning the race and the F1 title, Verstappen on the team radio called Perez a ‘legend’.

A second-place finish at this year’s Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix proved essential for Red Bull and Perez as Milton Keynes won at the turf of Ferrari. It was a 1-2 finish for Red Bull as Perez mounted pressure on Leclerc, who was trying to overtake him. But in that process, Leclerc pushed a little harder and went off the track.

Red Bull secured their second 1-2 finish of the season at Barcelona. It could have been Perez’s race but he was ordered to give his place to Verstappen.
