Alpine is reported to work on the model A523, after Ocon stated that the current performance of the car wasn’t satisfactory. “No, we can’t be satisfied with where we are at the moment,” he said.

“There are a couple of teams that have improved massively over the others.” The driver also focused on how the team needs to keep digging and thinking about any new innovations that can be implemented in the model.
He also highlighted how it is also important to maintain the atmosphere inside the team as well.
After the penalties in the Bahrain GP, Ocon was finally relieved to start his season after scoring a place in the podium. However, he also brought up the discomfort he had while being in the car. While on the tracks, Ocon thought that it might be possible to confine Ferraris and climb up faster. However, the latter took up pace in the middle phase of the second shift.

“So we just managed the pace, and brought the car back home. A strong weekend as a whole, but we need a little bit more to be able to catch the cars in front. That’s where we were today. So hopefully we understood plenty. And we can come back strong to the next one.” Ocon conceded.
Alpine driver and Ocon’s teammate, Gasly also expressed his expectations to perform better and how the team needs to analyse their current situation. The French driver also had a bad start to the season, followed by a consistent growth. The Bahrain GP and Saudi Arabia GP both saw Pierre at the 9th position, which was, however, better than Abu Dhabi GP in 2020.
Gasly also reported a repetitive discomfort with his intestines during the race. He also said how he struggled with the car on some days and hopes the team analyses the developments, in order to get where they want to be.

Both the drivers struggled with the car and it would surely be a challenge for Alpine to lay down the changes before the weekend in Australia.
