Marko, who recently took a cheeky dig at Hamilton for being lapped by Verstappen at the Imola GP, believes that only Lando Norris can fight the likes of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen for the crown this year. He told German outlet Auto und Motor Sport “The only other talented driver I still see in this league is Lando Norris, but he doesn’t have the best car at the moment.”

Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen both have won two races each in the 2022 season so far. Leclerc took the victories in Bahrain and Australia while Verstappen thumped his authority in Saudi Arabia and Imola.
Formula 1: Max Verstappen won the 2022 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.The Dutch driver, however, lost 36 points after suffering two DNFs at Bahrain and Australia, which has played into the hands of Leclerc in terms of the driver’s title race. Meanwhile, the Monegasque driver sits firmly in the top position in the Driver’s standings with 86 points.

McLaren driver Lando Norris, who finished third in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, is sixth on the Drivers’ table with 35 points to his name. He trails his countrymen Hamilton by seven points.

Verstappen is second in the Drivers’ standings and trails the Ferrari driver by 27 points. Meanwhile, Mercedes are lurking behind as they can’t match the pace of Ferrari and Red Bull. They have been severely hit by ‘Porpoising’, wherein the car bounces at high speeds on straights. The Silver Arrows have dominated the sport and have won every Constructors’ title since 2014, but things have taken a horrendous turn for them this season.
