It was all due to the intensity of Max Verstappen’s title battle with Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes in the 2021 season. Helmut said, “We faced two or three big hurdles in preparing for the 2022 season. It was the biggest change in regulations in the last 15 or 20 years.”

“All the new designs and planning had to be done in the budget cap. Also, we were fighting for the World Championship, so we had to move the new car forward at the same time.”

Red Bull will be producing their own in-house engines for the upcoming season as Honda bid goodbye to Formula 1 once again. Honda played a major role in Max Verstappen’s maiden F1 title which he clinched from the hands of Lewis Hamilton.

Things can now go wrong for Red Bull as they will be manufacturing everything in their factory for the first time. Before Honda, Renault was the engine supplier for the Energy Drink team. Before Verstappen, Honda last won with Ayrton Senna in 1991 when he was driving for McLaren.

It will be a difficult 2022 season for Red Bull as Verstappen doesn’t want to race with the same intensity he did in the last season. Also with the new engines, how the car will do on the track is still a mystery.

Formula 1 News: Red Bull didn’t reveal anything in the launch

Red Bull launched their new car for the upcoming season, the RB18. Helmut Marko admits there are still plenty of changes to come on the RB18. Marko added, “That was a presentation for the time being. It’s especially important for our partners. The first roll-out will take place later. And until the first race in Bahrain, there will be some changes.”

“We don’t reveal everything at the presentation. There are still some updates to come.” Red Bull’s technical team and their Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey have shared their views. They all said that it included ‘very unusual’ process of creating the new car after the new set of regulations.

But, the Red Bull team is still very optimistic going into the 2022 season. Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner said that Red Bull’s motivation is sky high going into the 2022 season. Max Verstappen will be going into the next season to defend his title.
