Formula 1: Mike Krack wants Sebastian Vettel to stay at Aston Martin: Aston Martin’s team principal Mike Krack wants a ‘performing structure’ if they want Sebastian Vettel to stay in their ranks. Mike Krack said, “It’s clear that a guy like Sebastian, a four-time world champion, does not want to be 15th or 12th or eighth. It is our task to deliver a performing car, or say, a performing structure because I think Sebastian is a clever guy.”

Aston Martin finished seventh last year in the constructors’ championship. Lawrence Stroll, the team’s owner has big ambitions with the team. He has set a five-year plan to take it to championship success.
The 2022 season will see a new set of regulations after almost 40 years, which is the second year of that plan. Krack believes that sometimes such plans aren’t successful. He also believes that former McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh is a strength at the top as the chief executive.
Mike Krack added, “The team had to avoid falling into a ‘corporate’ way of working. The way we have split the tasks at the moment, we are quick. Even we are flexible and we can react quicker than others. At this stage, we have everything that we need.”
