While following the rookie Chinese driver into the pool segment, he appeared to run over a damp patch from the heavy downpour prior to the race, and he crashed straight into the barrier, snapping off the back of the vehicle.

He was fortunate to come out unscathed, yet the vehicle split in half, meaning one more huge bill for Haas, who could currently be running genuinely close to the $140 million budget cap.
His first crash came in the qualifying session of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. It looks like he is running short on confidence and with the sudden emergence of his team-mate Kevin Magnussen, his confidence has taken a new low.
Kevin looks more confident in the same car provided by Haas to both the drivers. He was out of the action for a whole season but then Nikita Mazepin’s contract got terminated by Haas so they called him back in.

Meanwhile, former F1 driver Christian Danner believes that Mick needs to stop making errors in order to help Haas get a dent in the budget cap. “He can keep up in terms of speed, but things can’t go on like this with the incidents,” he said.
“He’s causing millions in damage, and a team like Haas can spend that money more wisely. He needs to find the solution for himself – no advice would help him. But he has to finish a race without incident. Gunther will be reading the riot act,” Danner further added.
