The British driver later received an apology from Piquet, who also claimed that his remarks had been mistranslated. Verstappen’s partner is Kelly Piquet, Piquet’s daughter.

However, the charges were brought by four human rights groups. Four human rights organizations, along with Brazil’s National LGBT+ Alliance, filed the complaints and demanded that Piquet pay $1.9 million (£1.5 million) in restitution for alleged moral harm.

The video footage of Piquet’s interview surfaced on social media. The Brazilian website Grande Premio, however, has accessed a full copy of all that was said during the podcast.

His comments were totally intolerable and he received a lot of backlash after this. Later, Piquet was denounced by F1, the FIA, numerous drivers, and other notable figures in the paddock.

Hamilton received honorary citizenship from Brazil in June. He also happens to be the only black driver in this high-octane sport.

The seven-time Formula One world champion, Lewis Hamilton once discussed about how he experienced racial bullying in school. He talked openly about how his time in school had been the most traumatic and challenging. It is completely inappropriate to experience such bigotry in such a line and sport.

Lewis Hamilton received a lot of support from his Formula 1 colleague. Hamilton mentioned how backed up he feels and for the first time that he felt like he didn’t stand alone.

“It’s more than language,” he said. “These archaic mindsets need to change and have no place in our sport. I’ve been surrounded by these attitudes and targeted my whole life. There has been plenty of time to learn. Time has come for action.”

“Discriminatory or racist language is unacceptable in any form and has no part in society. Lewis is an incredible ambassador for our sport and deserves respect,” a statement read.
