Formula 1: Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has praised Sergio Perez after he won the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time in his career. On top of it, he feels Verstappen should ‘learn from this opportunity’ and move ahead in the 2022 season. Follow Formula 1 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.
Schumacher who won six races in his 10-year-long F1 profession feels Perez was a ‘better driver’ on the streets of Monte Carlo and that he accepted the new vehicle fit Perez’s style more than it did Verstappen’s.

“He [Perez] has come close to Verstappen and Charles Leclerc in the drivers’ standings as a result. There could be a three-man fight. I just don’t think Sergio has the consistency of Verstappen. In Monaco, he was the better driver. Max should see this as an opportunity to learn things from his teammate.”
Formula 1: Sergio Perez after winning his first-ever Monaco Grand Prix.“Max has a very aggressive style and has done well with heavier cars in the past. However, the new concept suits Sergio more. If a driver is good at saving tyres, he can get more out of the car. Max should try to apply Sergio’s driving style to certain parts of the track and maybe take one or two corners a little slower,” Schumacher concluded.
Perez was quicker in all practice sessions as well as qualifying, in fact, because of him crashing and denying Verstappen an opportunity for a last run. Meanwhile, he converted that speed into the race and profited from Ferrari’s misstep.
Frustration for Max as he is forced to abort his final flying lap 😖

While there is still little uncertainty that Verstappen is the main driver in Red Bull as well as one of the most skilled on the grid, the Dutchman has been encouraged to take a look at Perez’s performance and see what he can realize having so far been not able to get the greatest out of the RB18.
After winning the Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Perez moves to third position in the drivers’ standings with 110 points. Moreover, he is mounting serious pressure on second-placed Charles Leclerc who has 116 points to his name.
