Credit where it’s due, F1-themed Netflix documentary “drive to survive” has a huge role to play. With increasing brand value and big bucks to play for, several influential legacy names are eyeing a presence or return on the grid in 2025. Moreover, Asian-based LKY SUNZ, Canadian billionaire Calvin Lo, and Calvin Durant-owned Panthera Asia are also in it for the same. Recently, F1 bosses including arch rivals Christian Horner and Toto Wolff also opened up on entertaining a new competitor on the grid. To the surprise of many, the two bosses shared the same sentiment, which was more of question and apprehension regarding this move. However, the opinion doesn’t hold much gravitas as they have no say in the decision FIA has already made.

With deadline almost knocking the doors of potential customers, the buzz is only increasing amongst the F1 juggernaut. As per the FIA application details, the new entrant can either apply for 2025-2026, when new engine rules will apply, or in 2027. More recently, Former racing driver and current boss of Andretti Global, Michael Andretti gave his two cents on their planned course of journey for the 2025 entry into F1.

Michael Andretti confirms team already working for 2025 Formula 1 entry

Going by the unprecedented rise in viewership and audience turning up at races, F1 is nothing short of the grandest, glitziest and fastest motorsport in the world. Every team on the grid is not only fighting for huge cash but also prestige and support from millions of fans, with the number increasing every passing second. Now, as Andretti-Cadillac is likely to become the 11th face on the grid, cameras are shifting towards them and every development in that regard is receiving unprecedented traction.

In a recent interview with SkySports, Michael Andretti told that they are already in the process of building an F1 team. Moreover, the intention is to enter the two cars on the grid at the earliest, i.e., 2025.

“That’s our goal,” Andretti said. “We’re working on it. We have that process that we’re in the middle of with the FIA. Submitting our paperwork this week and hopefully get an answer middle of July, so we’re making good progress.”

Responding to the assessment that 2025 entry would need far more hurry work, Andretti responded: “We’re already doing it. It’s already happening, we’re building a team as we speak.”

Notably, Michael is the son of 1978 F1 world champion Mario Andretti, who remains one of the most sensational names to have ever driven a race car.
