Formula 1: Alexander Rossi slams Max Verstappen for comments on IndyCar’s safety: Former F1 driver and 2016 Indy 500 winner, Alexander Rossi has slammed Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for his comments about the safety of IndyCar 500. Rossi even highlighted Formula 1’s own safety issues after Mick Schumacher’s horrific crash in the recent Monaco Grand Prix. Follow Formula 1 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.
Replying to Verstappen’s comment on IndyCar being unsafe, Rossi said “In a sense, it’s more dangerous, maybe. But we had four crashes and didn’t have a car splitting in half: you can’t say that about the Monaco Grand Prix. I think the safety argument is a cop-out. Those answers don’t surprise me but that doesn’t mean that I agree with them.”

“I have a lot of respect for what they achieve there but, for me, especially after now being in F1 for such a long time already. I don’t need to risk my life there and potentially injure myself, or my legs. It’s just not worth it anymore,” the defending Formula 1 world champion further said.
Verstappen even told that he is up for endurance racing but not for IndyCar or Le Mans. He even plans to stay away from the sport once he hangs up his boots and wants to do ‘fun things’ in his life.
