The Italian adds that it is too early to predict how the year will play out. Before it comes to a conclusion, he has high expectations of seeing a fiercer competition and big surprises.

Red Bull should be commended, according to Domenicali, for their successful start to the year. He said to congratulate any team that is speedier than the opposition. They performed better than the rest, in Domenicali’s opinion.

Although interest in F1 is increasing, he is not worried that Red Bull’s domination will hurt it’s popularity. When a new audience enters a market, Domenicali believes it’s exciting to observe them and see how they perform. The F1 CEO believes Red Bull’s domination on the other teams is not an important factor as long as the viewers increases. “But on the other hand, there is one thing that is interesting to see, in the new markets, where the new audience is coming in, that is not a really important factor. ” said Domenicali.

At the same point Domenicali talks about the other teams. He believes that they are actually close to Red Bull. With the budget cap that each and every team got this season, they will upgrade their cars in every possible way. Domenicali Highly believes that the other teams can fill in the gap with Red Bull.

Domenicali also said, “The history of F1 is that there have been teams that had to run, Red Bull had a run, Mercedes had a long run. But you look behind that we’re actually seeing more overtaking and more competition than ever.”

According to Domenicali, the pecking order may change in the future. With the exception of the cost cap penalty, which will continue to affect Red Bull’s aero testing programme until October, they have to see how they keep up with it.
