As the teams are making the final preparations for the upcoming season of this motorsport extravaganza, teams like Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren and Aston martin are all set to unveil their car liveries for F1 2022. Among the most prominent names are the constructors Mercedes and Ferrari who are set to launch their respective 2022 F1 car liveries in the middle of February. 2022 will see some major changes in the rules and regulations with the construction of the F1 cars.

Bidding adieu to the 7-year stint of the turbo-hybrid era, new designs, larger tires, and other components in terms of aerodynamics will come into effect from the next season. Till now only four teams have officially announced their launch dates, including Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and McLaren.

Aston Martin Racing now will be the first team to launch their 2022 car liveries on 10th February. McLaren will launch on the following day. Ferrari and Mercedes are scheduled to launch their new liveries on 17th and 18th February respectively. It remains to be seen when the remaining 6 teams Alfa Romeo Racing, AlphaTauri, Alpine, Williams, and Red Bull Racing announce their launch dates.

Haas on Feb 4: Haas is the first team to release their liveries for 2022 on 4th February 2022. Haas made their debut in 2016 and had their best season in 2018 where they achieved the 5th spot in the Constructor’s rankings. 2021 was their worst season where they stood last on the Constructor’s spot but unfortunately achieved 0 points in the entire season. Haas would be eager to score some points and aim for the middle half of the table in the upcoming season with their driver lineup of Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.
Red Bull Racing on Feb 9: Red Bull Racing is all set to release their new 2022 liveries on 9th February. The biggest victory for Red Bull came in 2021 when their ace driver Max Verstappen won the Driver’s World Championship. Red Bull has consistently performed at the top level throughout the turbo-hybrid era by coming second 4 times and has achieved the third spot 3 times. In 2021 Red Bull scored 585.5 constructor points yet came behind Mercedes with their lineup of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
Aston Marin Racing on Feb 10: Aston Martin Racing will release their liveries on 10th February. The new team will take part in its 2nd season in F1 in 2022. In 2021 they picked up 77 points and stood 7th in the Constructors Championship with the driver lineup of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll. Previously the company was known as Racing Point which picked up 73 and 195 points in the 2019 and 2020 seasons. With a driver setup of Lance Stroll and Sergio Perez, they stood 7th and 4th respectively.
McLaren on Feb 11: One of the pioneers in F1 racing has produced numerous World Champions will launch their liveries on 11th February for the 2022 season with their driver setup of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. McLaren’s performance from 2014 to 2021 has well quite mixed. With numerous driver changes, the team managed to remain in the middle of the constructor’s championship during this 8-year span. Languishing in the lower bottom for 6 years, their highs came in 2020 and in 2021. In 2020 they came 3rd after scoring 202 with Norris and Carlos Sainz Jr and 4th in 2021 with Norris and Ricciardo.

Scuderia Alpha Tauri on Feb 14: Scuderia Alpha Tauria are a relatively new team in Formula 1 racing having made their debut in 2020. Over the last two seasons, they have performed quite decently and have been rebranded from Torro Rosso who is the sister concern of Red Bull Racing. Alpha Tauri will release their liveries on 14th February. In 2020 they were 7th with 107 points and became 6th with 148 points with their driver lineup of Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda.
Ferrari on Feb 17: The most successful constructor in the sport has produced the most driver champions and won the most constructors trophy. The Italian motorsport company will release their liveries on 17th February. The last 8 years have been quite eventful for Ferrari after their pursuit for the constructor championship achieved the highest spot of 2nd. They came second 4 times and 3rd twice in a span of 8 years. 2022 will be a new challenge for Ferrari as they aim for the top spot with their driver setup of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr.
Mercedes-AMG Petronas on Feb 18: The most successful constructor has been dominating the turbo-hybrid era with 8 constructor championships and 7 driver championships. The unparalleled record goes to the credit of the drivers who won the championships, Lewis Hamilton (6 times), Nico Rosberg (1 time). 2021 was the only time when a rival driver won the championship. With a new lineup consisting of Lewis Hamilton and George Russel, Mercedes will compete in 2022 and they are scheduled to launch their liveries on 18th February.
Alpine on Feb 21: Formerly known as Renault, Alpine is set to launch their liveries on 21st February. This team made its debut in 2021 with its new name and rebranding. Alpine came 5th on the Constructor’s spot with 155 points and will be competing in the 2022 season with their driver lineup of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon.
Alfa Romeo on Feb 27: Previously known as Sauber Racing, Alfa Romeo rebranded with its new name and made its debut in 2019 and will launch its liveries on 27th February. In 2019 they finished eighth in the constructor’s spot with 57 points. 2020 was a pretty difficult season for Alfa Romeo who scored 8 points and achieved the 8th spot. However, in 2021 they managed just 13 points and achieved the 9th spot. In 2022 they will compete with a driver lineup of Valtteri Bottas and rookie Guanyu Zhou.
Formula 1 2021 summary: The ending of the F1 2021 season was marred with controversy which saw Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver winning the championship at the very last lap of the last race of the season. Going into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, both the title contenders Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were tied in points.

This could have been Lewis Hamilton’s record 8th Word Championship victory which would see him surpass the great Michael Schumacher. As for the constructors, Mercedes became the winners for a straight 8 years in a row which showcased their dominance in the turbo-hybrid era.
There have been quite a few transfers and swaps that will see new faces in the grid next season. Some noticeable changes are Kimi Raikkonen bidding goodbye to the sport and Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas taking his spot. Young Briton George Russel will take the spot of Bottas in Mercedes. However, the most important news will surely be about the availability of Lewis Hamilton in 2022, who has remained absent from public appearance and has maintained a wall of silence from that fateful night in Abu Dhabi.
The F1 2022 will kick start with the Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain on 20th March 2022.
