Xavi’s first day at work: Barcelona players greet their new manager for their first training session. Check out training pictures. After the day of his official presentation in front of 10,000 fans, Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona’s new manager got straight down to business as he greeted the players and conducted his first training session at the club. Although many players were missing as they are on international duty with their respective countries. Barca B youngsters Comas, Mika Mármol, Álvaro Sanz, Ez Abde, Jutglà, Aranda and Ilias Akhomach were called upon for the training.

Xavi started his work as Barcelona’s new manager, greeting the players and delivering his first team talk as he aims to return the stricken club to ‘the best in the world.’ With club president Joan Laporta accompanying the club legend, wearing a blue tracksuit, got to know his squad on the first day of his job.

After all the emotional welcomes it is now time for the hard work to begin for Ronald Koeman’s successor with Barcelona who are currently placed 9th in the La Liga table. His first match in charge will be against 11th placed Espanyol on November 21st at Nou Camp.

The former Al Sadd manager addressed the 10,000 fans present at the stadium. He said, “I don’t want to get too emotional so I will just tell you one thing- we are the best club in the world.”

Xavi became the first Barca manager to be presented on the pitch of Camp Nou. The midfielder will return to the club after six years as he left Barcelona to play in Qatar. He raised a lot of excitement before taking up a managerial role at Al Sadd.

Xavi shared his views on Ousmane Dembele and feels that he can be the best player in the world with hard work. It has been a very rough tenure for the Frenchman as he has suffered persistent injury problems.

The Spanish tactician has clearly mentioned that he is not here in Barcelona to draw or lose games. He wants his team to win matches and will only look to win and nothing else than that.
