The Xavi Simons drama continues despite his immediate departure from PSV Eindhoven. Reports in France have emerged that Premier League giants Manchester United are keen to secure the services of the 20-year-old attacking midfielder on a loan deal. After having scored 19 goals in the Eredivisie last season, he has returned to PSG. But now the Red Devils are keen to improve their bench strength and have targetted this young talent.

What happened With Xavi Simons?
The young and talented midfielder joined French giants PSG back in 2019 when he had a fallout at Barcelona. After a couple of substitute appearances for the Parisian club, Simons joined PSV on a five-year deal in 2022. But PSG was clever enough to keep a €6 million buyback clause that becomes active in 2023.
The youngster had a wonderful season in Netherlands where he managed to score 19 goals from 34 appearances. In the summer of 2023, PSG immediately triggered his clause and signed the midfielder.
Despite his talent, Xavi Simons would not get a chance to start regularly for PSG. But things are not so simple at PSG. With Lionel Messi gone and rumors surfacing of Neymar leaving and Kylian Mbappe not extending his contract, things can fall in place for Xavi Simons.

But what is next for Simons?
- If Neymar and Kylian Mbappe leaves this summer, Simons will play.
- If neither Neymar nor Mbappe leaves, Simons would like to go out on a loan spell.
And this is where Manchester United enters the fray. Red Devils gaffer Erik Ten Hag is a big admirer of Xavi Simons and as per reports from L’Equipe, would like to get Simons on a loan deal.
Manchester United recently bought Mason Mount from Chelsea and is finalizing a deal for Inter Milan goalie Andre Onana. Now with a limited budget at his perusal, a loan deal would be perfect for both parties. While Ten Hag gets a talented midfielder to improve his bench strength, PSG sends their player out on loan to gain much-needed playing experience.
