England Football Team manager Gareth Southgate’s fate now hangs on balance. The English manager has claimed that he is yet to make a decision on his future soon. He claimed that he would be having some important conversation before disclosing to the media what is next in his career.
Initially, it was claimed that Gareth Southgate would take a decision on his stint to continue as the manager of England after Euro Cup 2024 conclusion. Initial reports claimed that if England lifted the trophy Southgate would definitely be the one to continue as the gaffer for the Three Lions.
What’s next for Southgate?
But now, the dynamics have changed. England were handed a 2-1 loss by Spain in Berlin. This was England’s second consecutive Euro Cup final loss. “I totally understand the question and understand you need to ask it, but I need to have those conversations with important people behind the scenes and I’m obviously not going to discuss that publicly first,” Gareth Southgate told the media.
“Without a doubt, England have got some fabulous young players. We have now been consistently back in the matches that matter. It’s the last step that we haven’t been able to do. It’s hard to reflect so soon after a defeat like this. Of course, to take England to two finals has never been done but we came here to win and we haven’t been able to do that,” Southgate concluded.
As things stand, Southgate hasn’t made any decision on his career.
