West Ham agree on £105 million deal with Arsenal for Declan Rice

Arsenal and West Ham have agreed in principle to sign midfielder Declan Rice, with the Gunners offering £105 million for the 24-year-old, who recently secured the Europa League title.

Arsenal and West Ham have reached a deal in principle to sign midfielder Declan Rice. On Tuesday, the Gunners made a £105 million proposal for the 24-year-old, who won the Europa League earlier this month.

On Wednesday, it was disclosed that Manchester City, who were competing with Arsenal for Rice’s signing, had withdrawn out of the race. Arsenal now look to be reaching the end of the race after the third proposal was approved.

They are thought to have reached an agreement in principle with the Hammers for a £100 million transfer fee plus £5 million in add-ons. Rice agreement reached, transfer information released.

According to the report, Arsenal offered spreading the guaranteed £100 million component of the deal across four years. West Ham, on the other hand, wants the price spread out over two years, and the clubs are understood to be in advanced negotiations to smooth out this portion of the agreement.

However, this issue has been classified as’minor,’ with the deal not being jeopardised as a result of it.

Pep Guardiola’s side were unwilling to match Arsenal’s £105 million deal for Rice, having had a previous £90 million approach rejected by the defending Europa Conference League champions. The Gunners’ interest in Rice stretches back to January, with rumours in May indicating that manager Mikel Arteta was eager to complete a trade soon after the season ended.

If a deal for the 24-year-old is completed, he will be joined at the Emirates Stadium by Chelsea’s Kai Havertz. The Germany international is on the verge of joining Arsenal for £65 million, despite the club has yet to make an official announcement.
