‘We lived through hell’, Neymar Jr opens on his PSG stint alongside Lionel Messi

Neymar Jr opened out about his time at PSG with Lionel Messi, claiming that the pair went through hell at the Paris club.

Neymar claimed he went through “hell” with Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain, failing to “make history” in France. Both are now moving on from Parc des Princes,in the summer of 2023. In an interview with GE Globo, the Brazilian discussed Messi’s experiences on both sides of the coin.

“I was very happy for the year he had, but at the same time very sad, because he lived both sides of the coin. He went to heaven with the Argentina team, won everything in recent years, and with Paris he lived in hell. We lived through hell, both he and I. ” stated Neymar.

Neither had a good experience in France, with Neymar telling Globo about being reunited with former Barcelona teammate Messi and how their fantasy had turned into a nightmare.

Insidesport

We get upset, because we’re not there for nothing, we’re there to do our best, be champions, try to make history, that’s why we started playing together again, we came together there so we could make history. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it.” he added.

Messi has rekindled his spark in the United States with Inter Miami following two years with the Ligue 1 champions. Meanwhile, Neymar has swapped PSG for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Six years after his record-breaking €222 million (£190 million/$240 million) deal that shook the football world.

Neymar commented on Messi’s choice to leave Barcelona as a free agent. With the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner in need of a fresh start in order to resume playing with a grin on his face.

“Messi left in a way that, for football, he didn’t deserve. For everything he is, everything he does. Anyone who knows him knows, he is a guy who trains, who fights. If he loses he gets angry, and he was unfairly treated in my opinion. But at the same time I was very happy that he won the World Cup. As you said, football was fair this time, since the Brazilian team lost, Messi deserved to end his career like this.” Neymar concluded.

Messi and Neymar were expected to return to Camp Nou this summer. They have, however, decided to expand their wings in other parts of America and the Middle East.
