An ugly brawl took place between the supporters of Turkey and Georgia at the Signal Iduna Park. Fans of both the nations were involved in a ugly spat. Horrific scenes showcased fans throwing objects and punches at each other. Amidst a heavy rain, the security and police were brought in to intervene and stop the fight.
The incident took place in one of the corners of the stadium which was situated in the ground level. Owing to the incessant rain, the lower potions of the stadium was had no covering from the downpour. There is no clear idea as to how and why the fight ensued.
But it was eventually brought to an end when police and security intervened. Eventually, the police in riot gear arrived to quarden off the area.
Turkey vs Georgia
Coming to the game, the two closely located nations squared off in one of the most exciting games to take place in the tournament so far. Turkey took an early lead which was eventually equalised by Georgia before the break.
Past the hour mark, Arda Guler raised the roofs with his mega strike. And then in the dying minutes of the game, Kerem Akturkoglu scored his side’s third goal to seal the tie.
